Administration Guide

To follow this guide will be administration permissions required.

Enable decision log for team-managed project

team-managed project

  1. Open your decision log in your project. Click ‘Decisions’ in your project side menu.

  2. Go to Project Settings > Issue types > and click ‘Add Issue type’.

  3. Add name 'Decision'. The name will be used as identifier and must exactly match.

  4. Press 'Create' button.

  5. Switch back to your decision log. Now you should see your empty decision log. Add your first decision by clicking “Create” Issue (in the normal Jira manner). For more information go to the User Guide.

Add custom workflow to decision issue type

You can add your own workflow for decisions. There is no difference between the issue type ‘Decision' and other JIRA issue types. All decisions with the current workflow status Done are displayed in your project decision log. If you enable the 'show open' checkbox all categories will be listet.

team-managed project

  1. Go to Project settings > Issue types and select issue type ‘Decision’. Click ‘Edit workflow'. You are free to add or remove status, transitions and more.

  2. If your finished make sure there is a status with category Done and one other status from category To-Do or In-Progress. Select ‘Update workflow’ to enable your new workflow for the 'Decision’ issue type.

company-managed project

If you edit shared schemes than will be affected all projects there are associated with.

  1. Go to Settings > Issues > Workflow > and click ‘Add workflow'. Add your Custom Workflow Name and press 'Add’.

  2. You are free to add or remove status, transitions and more.

  3. If your finished make sure there is a status with category Done and one other status from category To-Do or In-Progress.

  4. Go to Settings > Issues > Workflow scheme > and find your project associated schema.

Add custom screen to decision issue type

You can add your own screen for decision issue type. There is no different between issue type ‘Decision' and other JIRA issue types.

team-managed project

  1. Go to Project settings > Issue types and select issue type ‘Decision’. Add or remove your preferred fields to screen and click save changes.

company-managed project

If you edit shared schemes than will be affected all projects there are associated with.

  1. Go to Settings > Issues > Screens > and click ‘add Screen' and add your Custom Screen Name. Click to 3 point menu button of the right side of your new Custom Screen and click ‘configure’. Select your preferred fields.

  2. If you finished go to Settings > Issues > Screen schema > and click ‘add Screen Schema’. Add your Custom Screen Schema Name und select your Custom Screen as ‘Default Screen’.

  3. At least go to Settings > Issues > Issue Type screen schemes > and find your project associated schema. Click to 3 point menu button of the right side of your issue type screen schema and click ‘configure’. Click ‘Associate an issue type with a screen scheme’ and add your screen schema to issue type ‘Decision’. Now will your screen enabled for decision issue type. Click ‘Edit’ and than ‘Add Workflow’ choose 'Add existing’.

  4. Select your Custom Workflow und click ‘next’.

  5. Select issue type ‘Decision' and click 'finished’.

  6. Press 'Publish' button to enable your Custom Workflow.
